Lawn surface insect control is done any time during the summer.  This is to control armyworms, chinch bugs, sod webworms, and a few other  insects that feed on the grass blades. This  product is usually put down as a granular application, but sometimes I use a liquid product.  I will use whatever product will work best at the time. The timing of this application depends on the particular insects that are in your lawn, and the timing also depends on the weather.
